“Cease and desist immediately, or we will pursue legal action.”

This was the email subject line Scott Boulis, a former college golfer at Bryant University, woke up to one summer morning in 2017.

The email was from one of the largest companies in Golf – Titleist.

For the past year-and-a-half Scott had been on a mission to make the Golf course hilarious with the products he created at IMadeBogey.com

The email was in reference to a hat he had designed that used Titleist’s signature font, but replaced the word “Titleist” with “Titties.”

. . . Admittedly – hilarious.

“I was going to just take the hats off my site, but the story of them suing me got picked up by some online news outlets, and I ended up having a ton of people tell me how awesome they thought the hats were, and that I should fight the case.”

Golf Should Be Fun For Young People

Boulis ended up fighting the case for 9 months because he remembered why he started IMadeBogey.com.

“I love golf, but a lot of young people don’t. They think it’s just for old, rich guys.

The purpose of Bogey was to make golf fun and funny for everyone and to embrace the idea of being able to love the game even if you aren’t the best player.”
